Experience the rugged beauty of the unique Lapland wilderness! Embark on an evening snowmobile adventure for a chance to glimpse the surreal beauty of the Northern Lights. Yell “mush!” as you try your hand at steering a team of eager sled dogs through Lapland’s pristine, snowy forests.

Day 1: Arrival in Swedish Lapland and Quest for the Northern Lights
Your adventurous holiday begins at Lapland’s Kiruna Airport where your guide awaits to greet you and escort you to your hotel in Kiruna, Sweden’s northernmost city located 145 km north of the Arctic Circle. As dusk settles, the guide prepares you for an exciting guided snowmobile trip into the wild to explore Lapland’s amazing Northern Lights*. After a delicious dinner, you head into the night again to return to the hotel.
* Please note that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and therefore sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Day 2: Dog Sledding in the Lapland Wilderness
Your tour guide meets you at noon at the hotel and drives you to the kennel in Ojnakka, where you are provided with weather-appropriate* outerwear for your Lapland dog sled excursion. After a basic lesson at the kennel, you have full control of the reins and the journey begins! After “mushing” your way to the campsite later in the afternoon, your hungry canine companions are rewarded for a hard day’s work with a hearty meal while equally hungry sled drivers gather in the cozy cabin for a traditional Lappish dinner together. Accommodation is in simple cabins without running water. For more info see text below.
* Winter temperatures normally vary between -5 C and -40 C.
Day 3: More “Mushing” and Local Cuisine
After a breakfast, the second day of your dog sled adventure commences with a 25 km-35 km ride.* A home-cooked Swedish lunch is provided either outside in the forest or inside a wooden hut and consists of local fare such as reindeer or moose and salmon or char. Upon returning to the campsite, your afternoon is free to explore Lapland’s spectacular nature until the evening, when the group meets to enjoy another traditional meal together in the cabin.
*Actual distance depends on local weather.
Day 4: Return to the Kennel and Departure from Kiruna Airport
A satisfying breakfast is served to energize both sled dogs and their drivers for the journey back to the kennel where you bid farewell to your loyal sled dogs. Your tour guide then drives you back to Kiruna followed by a transfer to Kiruna Airport for your departure flight.
